Vineyard
Riverview Vineyard is their northernmost vineyard in Monterey County. Located two miles southeast of Soledad and adjacent to the Pinnacles, this 215-acre vineyard is nestled on a bench overlooking the Salinas River. The bench location aids in creating excellent air flow and the southwestern exposure maximizes available sunlight and allows the fruit to ripen slowly and evenly. The soils are well-drained and comprised of decomposed granite. Riverview is an ideal site for ultra-premium Chardonnay with a Burgundian flavor profile. The cooler climate produces a steelier style, with distinct notes of minerality.
Tasting Notes
This Chardonnay is perhaps their finest to date from the Riverview Vineyard. The nose is complex, forward and pure with hints of stone fruit, grilled almonds and toasted oak. On the palate the wine delivers the perfect mix of flavor, richness and structure. This is one of those Chardonnays that pairs perfectly with everything from fresh seafood to ripe cheeses.
